HF | NFC - RFID Handheld Reader

Mobile HF | NFC RFID handheld readers are portable devices for contactless identification at 13.56 MHz – available as standalone Android terminals or as peripheral scanners with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or USB connectivity. They support ISO 14443 A/B and ISO 15693 (including MIFARE, NTAG, ICODE), capture UID and NDEF data, and are ideal wherever cards, tokens or labels need to be read on the move.
What defines an HF | NFC handheld reader?
Unlike fixed readers, handhelds are battery-powered and mobile. Rugged, drop-resistant housings with IP protection, long battery life and LED/buzzer/vibration feedback make them suitable for all-day field use. Standalone Android devices run apps directly on the terminal; peripheral readers transmit captured data via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or as HID keyboard input to a smartphone, tablet or PC.
Typical applications
- Mobile access control & ticketing – entry validation at events, in public transport or on-site
- Asset tracking & stocktaking – mobile capture of assets, tools and inventory
- Mobile POS & membership management – contactless validation of customer and member cards
- Predictive maintenance & audits – on-site identification of machines and components
How to choose the right handheld reader
The key factors are the operating model (standalone Android terminal or peripheral scanner), connectivity (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB), IP rating and battery life for your use case, and the supported transponders.
