UHF | RAIN - RFID Reader Modules

UHF | RAIN RFID reader modules are compact OEM modules for integration into your own devices and systems. Operating at 860–960 MHz under EPC Gen2 / ISO 18000-63, they reach read ranges up to 12–15 m and process hundreds of tags per second – ideal for embedded systems, handhelds and stationary readers.
Function and integration
The module powers passive transponders via the RF field and reads the backscattered EPC data – including bulk reading via anti-collision. Interfaces such as USB, UART-TTL, Ethernet (PoE), RS-232/485, CANbus or Modbus TCP, plus GPIO and up to eight external antenna ports, allow flexible integration. Low power consumption and a compact form factor enable use in mobile devices too.
Typical applications
- Logistics & supply chain – reading points at gates and conveyors
- Manufacturing & automation – workpiece and container identification
- Asset tracking & RTI – returnable transport items and equipment
- Self-service & kiosk – embedded long-range capture
How to choose the right UHF module
The decisive factors are the interface to the host electronics, the number of antenna ports and the required read range, the supported protocols (EPC Gen2, LLRP) and the size and power consumption. As a value-added distributor and system integrator, we advise you vendor-independently – from module selection to integration into your embedded design.
