HF | NFC - RFID Tags | Label

HF | NFC RFID tags, labels and stickers enable contactless identification of objects and people at 13.56 MHz in line with ISO 14443 and ISO 15693. Available in many form factors – as stickers, smart labels, hangtags, cards, key fobs or small chips – they support UID and NDEF and can be customized for almost any application. The portfolio covers form factors from CT, HID Global, ACS, CCL Faubel and RFCAMP. Where HF and NFC sit within the wider technology is shown in the RFID basics.
Form factors, materials and chips
Tags and labels come in paper, PVC, PET or as custom builds. The choice of material determines durability, flexibility and use case – from temporary stickers and rugged industrial labels to long-lasting cards. For harsh environments there are disc tags, epoxy tags and cable-tie tags – the cable-tie tag rated IP68, the HID epoxy tag IP69 – and a laundry tag for up to 200 °C. Common chips such as NXP MIFARE Ultralight, Classic and DESFire, NTAG213 or ICODE SLIX2 cover different memory, security and read-range requirements and meet NFC Tag Type 2 or Type 5.
HF, NFC and smart labels
NFC is a subset of HF RFID: every NFC tag runs at 13.56 MHz, but not every HF tag is NFC-capable – the chip has to match an NFC Forum tag type and carry NDEF data. A smart label is a flexible RFID label with an embedded inlay; one example in the portfolio is the CCL Faubel Smart Label with a battery-free e-paper display that can be rewritten contactlessly.
Typical applications
- Stocktaking & asset tracking – unique marking of inventory and assets
- Access & membership management – cards and key fobs for personal identification
- Library & event management – media and ticket labelling
- Smart packaging & brand protection – NFC interaction and authenticity checks
How to choose the right tags and labels
The decisive factors are the surface (metal/non-metal), environmental conditions, required read range, and chip and memory. On request we supply them custom-printed, encoded and serially numbered – our RFID label print service runs in house. As a value-added distributor, we advise you vendor-independently and supply matching RFID readers and tags from a single source.
