Overview
Setting up NFC encoding means memory banks, NDEF record structure, lock modes and chip particularities: labelling software puts all of it into dialogues built for specialists. IDSCOUT Encode turns the workflow around. The operator describes the job the way it reads on the job sheet. A language model running on the device recognises the job pattern and pulls the values out of the text, and a form shows where each value came from: green means backed verbatim by a literal quote from the operator's own words, orange means the model suggested it, red means it is missing.
The core rule of the architecture: the AI never writes. What goes onto the chip is built by deterministic, tested software from the confirmed form, never by the model. The first label of every job halts the batch until the operator has read it back physically and released it, every label is fully read back after writing and bound to its chip UID, and the job ends with a CSV report carrying serials, UIDs, spec checksum and the software and recipe version. In the pre-registered acceptance run of the language layer (recipe catalogue v8, as of 16 August 2026) the station reached 100 % slot accuracy with 298 of 298 job fields, caught 14 of 14 deliberately planted safety traps, and produced 0 phantom values, 0 build errors and 0 determinism deviations; across all ten acceptance runs since July 2026, no incorrect AI value has ever reached a label.
At launch the recipe catalogue covers NDEF link or text (fixed or with a running number), one link per label from CSV, digital business cards (vCard 3.0), Wi-Fi access credentials (WPS/WSC, WPA2 or open), Smart Poster, URI presets for phone, e-mail and geo, raw block/page writes and customer house formats configured by IDCRAFT. Supported chips are NTAG213 (144 bytes usable), ICODE SLI and SLIX (108 bytes) and SLIX2 (312 bytes). The station runs entirely on the device with no cloud, no account and no telemetry, shows the Art. 50(1) EU AI Act notice in its operator UI, and is developed and assembled by IDCRAFT in Germany. It is the first expert of the IDSCOUT family, IDCRAFT's AI layer for the Auto-ID field. Interactive demo: idscout.de
