UHF | RAIN - RFID Antenna Times-7 - A1163

The Times-7 A1163 is the largest antenna of the True NearField series. It detects RAIN RFID tags in a tightly confined 600 x 300 mm zone above its surface, without surface dead spots. The flat-radome version measures 600 x 300 x 8.5 mm and the formed version 604 x 304 x 8.5 mm; net weight is 1.175 kg. The large footprint covers wide shelves and counters with a single antenna, which reduces the number of readers and cables.

The antenna works with the near field at its surface instead of radiating into the room, so liquids and metal in the read area do not cause the unpredictable read ranges seen with far-field antennas, and neighbouring shelves stay out of the read zone. Typical VSWR is 1.95 and the far-field equivalent gain is -12.5 dBi.

The flame-retardant ABS radome is rated IP54 for indoor use from 0 to +50 °C and comes flat or formed, in black or white. An SMA female connector sits on a 482 mm RG316 fly lead. The antenna mounts with screws through its integrated mounting holes or on the dedicated A1163 mounting plate; self-adhesive rubber feet are included for surfaces that cannot be drilled.
