Overview
The Times-7 A6590C is a circularly polarised RAIN RFID ground antenna for items, assets and people in motion. At 915 x 305 x 8 mm it lies flat on the floor within a doorway-sized footprint. A right-hand circularly polarised element delivers 9 dBiC typical gain with a 3 dB beamwidth of 20° in the XZ plane and 80° in the YZ plane.
Typical VSWR is 1.4, the axial ratio 2 dB and the front-to-back ratio 24 dB. Versions for 865–868 MHz (ETSI) and 902–928 MHz (FCC) work with any UHF RFID reader with a 50 Ω antenna port. The antenna is DC grounded for ESD protection, accepts up to 3 W and offers antenna detection via a 10 kΩ resistance.
The flame-retardant ABS housing is rated IP65 and operates from -20 to +55 °C. It carries hand trolleys, rubber-wheeled carts, runners, bicycles and occasional pneumatic-tyred vehicles, with point loads up to 7 kg per square centimetre and distributed loads up to 500 kg; install it on a smooth, hard, flat surface. Two connector versions are available: SMA female on a 300 mm cable or RP-TNC plug on a 2 m cable.
