Overview
The Times-7 A8065D is a SlimLine dual-linear door frame antenna with two ports, designed to mount across the top of a doorway. It radiates both vertically and horizontally polarised fields: 4 dBi typical gain on the vertical and 3 dBi on the horizontal polarisation. The housing measures 700 x 90 mm, is only 9.6 mm deep and weighs 0.58 kg.
The 3 dB beamwidth is 25° (XZ) by 140° (YZ) for the vertical and 40° (XZ) by 110° (YZ) for the horizontal polarisation; front-to-back ratio is 5 dB and 10 dB respectively, VSWR 2.5 typical. The antenna covers 865–868 MHz (ETSI) or 902–928 MHz (FCC), accepts up to 3 W and works with any UHF RFID reader with 50 Ω ports. A 10 kΩ detection resistance lets readers identify it.
The flame-retardant ABS radome is rated IP54 and operates from -20 to +55 °C. Integrated drill guides can be drilled through without damaging the antenna, or it attaches with an adhesive foam strip; RF connects via 300 mm RG-316 leads with SMA female connectors. The A8065D is the overhead antenna of the A8065 Combo, which adds the A8065V and A8065H on the door sides for orientation-independent doorway reads.
