Overview
The Chainway R3 is a newly developed UHF | RAIN - RFID Desktop Reader designed for professional short / mid-range RFID applications. Despite its compact and low-profile design, this UHF RFID Reader delivers reliable performance with a read range of up to 50 cm. The integrated antenna combined with an efficient anti-collision algorithm ensures fast and accurate tag reading, even when multiple RFID transponders are present simultaneously. As a dedicated RFID Table Reader, the Chainway R3 is engineered to precisely capture only tags located within its defined read zone, effectively preventing unintended reads from surrounding areas. This makes the device particularly suitable for environments where accuracy, control, and operational efficiency are critical. With its modern industrial design and robust construction, the Chainway RFID Reader integrates seamlessly into professional desktop and POS environments.
From a technical perspective, the Chainway R3 UHF Reader offers a powerful and future-proof feature set. With an adjustable output power of up to 30 dBm (1 W), the device supports consistent and stable RFID performance across a wide range of use cases. Data transmission can be handled flexibly via USB Type-C or wirelessly using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 4.0), allowing the RFID Desktop Reader to be connected to PCs, tablets, or mobile devices as required. Power is supplied directly via USB, eliminating the need for an external power adapter and enabling clean, space-saving installations. The Chainway UHF Reader is compatible with Windows, Android, and iOS systems and includes comprehensive SDK support for easy integration into existing software environments. In addition to reading, the device supports writing to UHF RFID tags, making it ideal for tag initialization and encoding workflows. The IP65-rated housing protects the reader against dust and splashing water, ensuring reliable operation even in demanding industrial or retail environments. Supporting EPC Class 1 Gen2, ISO 18000-63, and Impinj Gen2X, the Chainway R3 UHF RFID Reader is fully compliant with current RAIN RFID standards and well prepared for future requirements.
Thanks to its versatility, the Chainway R3 can be deployed across a wide range of industries and applications. In retail environments, the RFID Table Reader is ideally suited for point-of-sale systems, item verification, and inventory management, enabling fast and contactless identification of tagged products. In logistics and warehousing, the RFID Reader streamlines goods receiving and dispatch processes by enabling rapid and accurate tag capture at defined read points. The Chainway RFID Reader is also widely used in access control and smart parking solutions, where it reliably verifies UHF RFID credentials for personnel, vehicles, or assets. In addition, the device supports applications such as identity verification, anti-counterfeiting systems, and production process control, where precise and repeatable RFID reads are essential. Its compact form factor allows the reader to be easily integrated into desks, counters, gates, or workstations without occupying excessive space, making it a highly flexible UHF RFID solution for professional environments.
